Today, Greece celebrates Dekapentavgoustos (Δεκαπενταύγουστος), also known as the Feast of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary. This day is filled with rich traditions, heartfelt prayers, and joyful festivities! 🇬🇷🙏

Thousands embark on pilgrimages to sacred sites like the island of Tinos, showcasing deep devotion.
On Tinos, many pilgrims crawl on their knees up to the Church of Panagia Evangelistria as an act of faith.
Traditional feasts are prepared, featuring delicious Greek dishes like roasted lamb, moussaka, and seasonal salads.
Villages and cities come alive with music, dancing, and local festivals (panigyria) that unite communities.
It's a time for family reunions, as many return to their ancestral villages to celebrate together.
Dekapentavgoustos is also a moment for spiritual reflection and renewal as the summer holidays come to an end.
